The full-back suffered a dislocated shoulder in our 2-2 draw at Southampton on April 25.
That ruled him out for the rest of our domestic season and Wales' key Euro 2016 qualifier against Belgium tomorrow night (Friday, June 12).
Out of his sling by the end of May, Ben is now targeting full fitness for when the players begin preparations for 2015-16 in July.
"It’s frustrating to miss what is probably the biggest qualifying match for Wales, our biggest game in a long, long time, but it’s part and parcel of football," said Ben, who joined us from Swansea in July and made 29 appearances in all competitions in his first season.
"I could have missed a lot of club football as well if the injury was slightly earlier, but hopefully I won’t miss too much football now.
"I’ll be in over the summer, work hard to get fit and that will give me a head start in pre-season.
"I’ve no trips away booked. I’m sure I’ll get a couple of days here or there but I’ve nothing more planned as my focus is to get fit over the summer. It’s time to do my job, and that’s to get fit.
"I’ve set myself targets to get stronger and fitter and hopefully by pre-season I’ll be back involved in everything. Pre-season will be a fresh start for everyone."
Look out for Nacer Chadli's Wales-Belgium preview tomorrow...
