Ben Davies: "Emotions at Chelsea were real. It's one Club, one goal"

Ben Davies has underlined the togetherness that continues to drive the squad forward.
Sunday's fine 3-1 win at Chelsea not only ended our Stamford Bridge hoodoo but stretched our unbeaten run in the Premier League to 13 matches, our second best in the Premier League era. It also moved us eight points clear of the Blues in fourth.
At the heart of it all is a group of friends, many of whom have spent three, four of five years at the Club now - 12 have played over 100 games for us - and determined to take Spurs forward.
Welsh international Ben, 25 later this month, sums up that spirit.
Battling it out at left-back with Danny Rose, Ben has often had to be patient, waiting for his chance since arriving at the Club from Swansea in the summer of 2014.
His chance arrived in the second half of last season when Danny picked up a knee injury at the end of January. Since then, Ben has started 37 of 46 matches in the Premier League, 22 this season.
If proof of this togetherness was needed, this is what Danny Rose had to say after starting ahead of Ben at Bournemouth last month.
"People won’t get to see his attitude on a day-to-day basis, even when I was playing more regularly in the Premier League he kept going and what he’s done over the last year or so...he's a top professional and more importantly, he’s a great person as well.
"Full credit to him and I look forward to having him back involved again. We’ll just see who plays."
Speaking after training on Wednesday, Ben summed up the feeling of the players after Chelsea.
"Whoever is on the pitch for a particular game, it’s about supporting them and wanting the best for the team.
"You saw Harry on the bench when we scored the second goal at Chelsea, a huge goal and it was as if he’d scored the goal himself. I’m sure he was devastated he couldn’t start a game like that but that’s irrelevant when the whistle goes at the start of the game because it’s about Tottenham Hotspur, not the names on the teamsheet, but winning the game for the Club, no matter who is out there.

"We all want the best for this Club as does everyone involved and if you are not on the pitch or on the bench and not playing, it doesn’t matter, because every player is there every day and as much part of the team as the players who play most weeks. Without them, it doesn’t work, we don’t have the same training, the same intensity and that’s the feeling we have throughout the squad. That’s been huge this season.
"Everyone is settled and that shows on the pitch in our performances - everyone wants the best for this Club.
"The emotions at Chelsea when we scored the goals, after the game, that was real. This is our team. This is what we want to do. It’s one Club, players, staff, fans and everyone has one goal and that’s to push us forward and wins like that make it feel all the more special."
