Ben on Chris - on and off the pitch

Wed 11 April 2018, 15:00|Tottenham Hotspur

He's pulling the strings on the pitch, and Ben Davies has given us a little peek into what Christian Eriksen is like away from football.

The great Dane is in the form of his life. He followed up his wonder strike in the 3-1 win at Chelsea by being credited with both goals in Saturday's hard-fight 2-1 win at Stoke, taking him to 14 in all competitions this season including 10 goals and eight assists in the Premier League.

We spoke to Ben at length last week, where he told us about the togetherness in the squad and the players' collective drive to push the Club forward and here's what he had to say about Christian...

On the field

'He makes us tick...'

Ben: "He’s playing out of his skin. I must sound like a broken record but he’s the player who makes us tick. Without him, we miss that link and that little bit of creativity. He keeps putting the performances in, keeps showing that quality, the passing, the goals, people take for granted how good he actually is. He’s a magnificent player, maybe one of the best in the Premier League. His goal at Chelsea changes everything for us going into the second half. He's capable of that bit of magic."

Off the field

'You might not even notice he was there...'

Ben: "Put it this way...if you saw him walking down the street you might not even notice he was there! He’s a very chilled out character, very calm in everything. These are the people you want around and want to be friends with - chilled, relaxed, modest, people just go about their lives. It’s the little things that make you become friends and we’ve become friends in this team. We’re group of mates that go out to lunch together, we chill out. It’s a good place to be at the moment and it's not just what you see on the pitch, it’s off the pitch as well. We hang out together and it’s just like playing with your mates."
