Capped 47 times, Toby joins Nacer Chadli and Jan Vertonghen in the Belgian squad for key qualifiers against Bosnia tonight (Thursday, September 3) and Cyprus on Sunday.
The emergence of Wales as true contenders has put pressure on Belgium.
Chris Coleman’s team picked up a draw in Belgium before a crucial victory over the Red Devils in Cardiff in June.
That has left Wales three points clear of Belgium and five ahead of Israel and Cyprus with four matches remaining and the top two guaranteed a place in the finals in France next summer.
“We start with Bosnia at home and that’s a big game,” said Toby, who has started all four games for us so far this season in central defence alongside Jan. “Then we go to Cyprus. These are games we have to try to win.”
So the pressure is on somewhat - not least with expectations through the roof for Belgium’s talented squad, a squad that reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
“All of our players are in big teams so they know what pressure is all about,” he added. “Every week is pressure. We’re used to that now and we want to give the fans two good performances.”
