Younes Kaboul believes he 'integrated with the team' during the 2-1 victory over Orlando Pirates in Cape Town.

The central defender, signed from Auxerre in July, did feature against St Patrick's and for a couple of minutes against Kaizer Chiefs before receiving a boot in the face, but he was a star turn at the back against Pirates, looking strong defensively while also showing some good attacking poise.

He produced something of a party piece in the first half with a stunning free-kick from 30-plus yards that thumped against the upright with the keeper beaten.

He reflected that the game was a positive experience overall.

"It was an amazing atmosphere," said the central defender. "I felt right at home and think I integrated with the team and my team mates straight away

"The pirates played well with the ball and held it up well. We were better than them in almost every department though and I think that showed throughout. We were patient and at the end of the match, the result was right, we deserved to win.

"The pitch was very good, even though they play rugby here, the surface was very good. I am sure that rain helped and it made for a good game."
