WE WENT from Oldham to Tranmere, another tough away game, but we found ourselves in the lead again. They eventually equalised and I got caught in that game, injuring my ankle. I turned and couldn’t get out of the way of a tackle coming in and twisted my ankle. That was frustrating as it ruled me out of the weekend game against Bournemouth.
I’VE BEEN back at Spurs for treatment on that injury. I’m a nightmare when I’m injured anyway, a bit moody, so it was good to be home and be able to see my family and friends as well. The Crewe manager has been really good to me, didn’t mind and all I want to do is get fit as quickly as possible. Hopefully I’ll be fit for Southend on Saturday.
IT WAS a shame to miss out on playing against Bournemouth. I went back up to Crewe to watch the game and as I sat in the stand, I really fancied being out there. We started well, created a few chances and could have gone ahead but then they scored just before half-time and as we chased the game, they caught us on the break. We scored a consolation at the end but a 4-1 defeat was obviously not the best result. We’re all determined to get back on track at Southend.
THIS IS the reality of football. It’s tough but I’m sure the lads will stick together and we’ll turn it around. I’ll certainly always give 100 per cent and if I’m back in the team at Southend I’ll be doing everything to help us do that. It’s a local one for me, I’ve a lot of family and friends going and hopefully things will turn around for us.Don’t forget to register your supportHEREfor Spurs’ new Football Training Centre in Enfield
YOU quickly learn in league football that personal performances don't really mean a thing – it's all about points. It’s a results business and in any first team in league football, that’s what counts. That means that although it was great for me to score another goal at Oldham, it mattered little because we lost. A scrappy 1-0 win whether or not I was on the scoresheet would have been better. We went 2-0 up and it looked good, but Oldham played well in the second half and ended up winning 3-2. Everyone was gutted.
