Striker 'Barney' has more than played his part in a run of 15 wins in 17 games that sealed the Barclays Reserve League South championship - he’s bagged 19 goals with one league match to go and should finish the season top of the charts in the Southern section.

The lads – who will be presented with the trophy again at half-time against United at the Lane on Monday – complete their campaign at Coventry on April 25 before a one-off play-off final against the Northern section winners.

"It’s been a great season and we’ve played well in so many games, it’s been brilliant to be involved," said Lee. "It’s a fantastic experience to go and win a trophy.

"Winning that title was most important and on a personal level, if I hang on to be top goalscorer it will be a real bonus.

"The reserve team changes a lot with injuries and first teamers coming down for fitness and games but everyone has gelled well, we’ve played well, scored plenty of goals and won games.

"To take that trophy out at the Lane against United will be another day to remember and hopefully we’ll finish the league off with a win at Coventry. We’ve then got the play-off to look forward to."
