A signed ball was at the Club all day on Tuesday ready for collection and the BBC had agreed to collect it by 8.30pm, but it was not picked up. The BBC has since told us they turned up closer to 11pm, and that they had left that message.
We have certainly not accepted the situation and are currently in discussions with them because this is all about a complete breakdown in communications and it was always our intention to play our part in this excellent event.
The Club does a tremendous amount of work for charity by supporting our three main charities as well as numerous organisations every week.
Just to show there are no hard feelings we shall be sending additional items along to our BBC mates.
The Club has reacted with great energy to the unfair criticism we received from BBC Radio 1 and their Comic Relief Football Challenge, when they claimed we had failed to provide a signed item.
