Gareth Bale completed his first action of the season in a friendly against QPR at Spurs Lodge on Wednesday.

The Welsh full-back has been out since June after undergoing surgery to repair a medial meniscal tear on his left knee.

He played the full 90 minutes in the behind-closed-doors encounter that also saw Heurelho Gomes return to action.

Harry Redknapp reported: "Gareth was involved as he is coming back from injury and we wanted to get a game into him and one or two of the lads played including Gomes and he was fine as well.

"He is fit to start but Carlo has done nothing wrong either and I have been pleased with him."

The team came from 2-0 down to beat QPR 3-2 at Spurs Lodge with goals from Harry Kane, Jesse Waller-Lassen and Giovani dos Santos.

"QPR had their game cancelled on the Tuesday night so ended up bringing a very strong side and it was a really good game for us," reported Development coach Clive Allen.

"We were 2-0 down but fought back well. Jesse Waller-Lassen pulled a goal back after taking a good position on the right and firing into the roof of the net and then Harry Kane levelled with a curler into the far corner.

"The winner came from Gio after Harry cut the ball back to him.

"Harry did well when he came on, as did Kudus Oyenuga in the first half. It was a good chance for me to see those two against senior opposition after some good performances for the Academy team.

"Overall, the game certainly served its purpose - strong opposition, a work out for the senior players who needed it and good experience for the younger lads."
