Bale determined to put things right

Gareth Bale would love to put right one of his low points of the season when we face Stoke at the Lane tonight.

The full-back only lasted 17 minutes of the corresponding game at the Britannia Stadium in October when he was red carded for a foul on Tom Soares.

Danny Higginbotham scored from the spot and although our 10 men hit back to equalise, Rory Delap hit the winner for the Potters in the second half.

It turned into a match to forget with Gareth and Michael Dawson sent off and Vedran Corluka stretchered off.

"I was sat in the changing room for most of the game," recalled Gareth. "It was very disappointing for me. I wasn't even thinking about getting sent off when the penalty was awarded. When the referee showed the red card it was a massive blow for me and didn't help the team either.

"Stoke are strong, physical and get about you. You know you are in a game.

"They put themselves about but we'll battle back and we have the quality to win the game. Everyone is aware how they play but it's difficult to stop. If we match them physically we have the quality to win.

"Every game is so important now. If we could win a couple of matches back to back we'll climb up the table and that will take the pressure off.

"It's about getting on that run and getting a few wins under our belts as soon as possible."
