Back to business

Posted on 7 October 2002  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glenn Hoddle described Sunday's 2-1 win against Blackburn Rovers as 'getting back to business'.

Jamie Redknapp's last-minute volley grabbed the points at Ewood Park after Robbie Keane had opened the scoring with a stunning first goal for the club.

In-between, Rovers hit back through Egil Ostenstad and there was some stout defending between the lightning breaks that could have brought us more goals.

The win lifted us back up to fourth in the Premiership and Glenn said: "We're delighted with the three points after losing two Premiership games.

"We had a good win in the week in the cup and this was back to business, a good performance.

"I felt the first half we particularly dominated and with the injuries we've still got, the team went out and played terrific.

"When we needed to dig in and battle we did. When we missed the one-on-one chances you think maybe we're not going to do it but we were persistent, kept going, the chances went drifting by, they had a tight offside goal disallowed but we picked it up again and deserved the win.

"We broke quickly and played aggressively and that's how we got the win.

"We should have cleaned up with the chances we had but we're delighted with the win, the three points and more importantly, we've stopped a nasty little run.

"We played well at United and lost, dreadful against Middlesbrough at home and lost, deservedly, but the last two performances against Cardiff and Blackburn, the lads have responded very well."
