Gareth Bale was named Football Association of Wales Young Player of the Year in Cardiff on Tuesday night.

A big hit in his first few months at Spurs, the youngster has impressed playing in both left-back and left midfield roles and has contributed three goals in his nine games for us so far.

Still only 18, Gareth is also a regular for Wales and beat Cardiff's Joe Ledley and Wolves' keeper Wayne Hennessay to this honour at the FAW's awards night at the Millennium Stadium. He has scored twice in 11 caps since making his debut in 2006.
