Martin Jol thoroughly enjoyed facing the fans as 'An Audience With...' proved a huge success at the Lane on Wednesday night.

We played host to Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust members, Season Ticket Holders and Club Members in the private affair in the Bill Nicholson Suite.

Head Coach Martin and goalkeeper Paul Robinson fielded questions on a vast range of topics from Robbo's relationship with the fans, comparisons with his Leeds side and how he'd settled in London to Martin's thoughts on our strikers, our formation and Edgar Davids' influence on the squad.

"I enjoyed it," smiled Martin. "We all love Spurs, we all support the same team and it was amazing to see the people there.

"It gave me the opportunity to explain a few things and that was nice."

We see the fans at the stadium on matchdays but I think it's important to meet them in person as well

Asked how Robbo coped, Martin added: "He's the number one, he's very popular with fans and they are all very proud that he's our goalkeeper. He's a good talker as well, so obviously that helped!"

Daniel Wynne, Chairman of the Trust, added: "It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening which gave the supporters a rare opportunity to put questions in a relaxed atmosphere to Martin and England's number one keeper.

"Martin and Paul answered every question candidly and with humour, which therefore gave us a fascinating insight into life behind the scenes as White Hart Lane."
