Our Under-18s almost took the prize scalp of Manchester City in their FA Premier Academy League opener on Saturday.
The lads led 2-0 and 3-2 against last season's FA Youth Cup winners before conceding a late equaliser for a final scoreline of 3-3 at Spurs Lodge.
Ryan Mason slotted home from the penalty spot to open the scoring after just three minutes and Danny Rose (pictured right) doubled the lead two minutes into the second half.
City hit back with two goals in six minutes mid-way through the half but Rose struck again to make it 3-2 with 20 minutes remaining.
However, just as victory over the side that won their division by nine points last term looked on the cards, City found an equaliser to take a share of the spoils with 88 minutes on the clock.
