Two-thirds of household rubbish can be re-used or recycled, but unfortunately the traditional attitude to rubbish is to throw it in the bin and forget about it.
Recycling is a way every individual can help the environment every day - and it is easier to do than it has ever been.
At tonight's game, the Club has introduced a number of electric 'hedgehog' recycling vehicles positioned around the ground providing you with the opportunity to recycle some of your waste. Keep an eye out for one of the specially designed, football-themed 'hedgehogs' and play your part in the 10:10 campaign.
There are approximately 2,300 landfill sites in the UK and space is running out. Recycling cuts down on the need for landfill and reduces the use of new materials and saves energy, helping to tackle climate change. Many household items, including mobile phones, printer cartridges and left-over paint, can be re-used.

- One aluminium can saves enough energy to run a television set for three hours
- On average, every person in the UK throws away their own body weight in rubbish every seven weeks
- The average UK household produces over one tonne of rubbish every year
- Recycling one glass bottle saves enough energy to power a colour TV for 15 minutes
- The energy saved by recycling one plastic bottle will power a 60W light bulb for six hours
- Once an aluminium can is recycled, it can be part of new can within six weeks
- If all the aluminium cans sold in the UK were recycled, there would be 14 million fewer full dustbins each year.
