The final day's work at our training camp in Spain was geared around the friendly against Hercules CF on Thursday night.
So it was a case of a short, sharp session on Thursday morning with Juande Ramos expressing what he wanted technically and tactically from the fixture.
The lads began with a warm-up exercise based around quick movement before switching to possession work, one-touch football inside a small circle. From there, Juande went through set-piece routines and after a stretch, it was back for lunch and then the short trip to Alicante for the friendly against the La Liga Segunda Division side.
Darren Bent's looping header then earned a 1-1 draw against Hercules at the Jose Rico Perez Stadium in a tough, feisty encounter ideal for the lads at this stage of pre-season.
With that, it was up early on Friday morning for a 10.30am departure back to the UK.
