David Hutton headed home the winner as our reserves beat an experienced Ipswich side 2-1 in a friendly at Spurs Lodge on Wednesday.
The midfielder stole in at the far post to head home substitute Jake Nicholson's fine cross with 66 minutes on the clock.
Hutton also had a hand in the equaliser as he delivered the free-kick that Dorian Dervite headed back for Troy Archibald-Henville to convert at the near post.
Earlier, Ipswich - who included the likes of Ivan Campo, Kevin Lisbie, Jonathan Peters, Danny Haynes and Jordan Rhodes - took the lead on the half-hour before Hutton was denied a goal when his free-kick was spectacularly tipped onto the post by keeper Shane Supple.
Academy manager John McDermott reported: "It was a competitive friendly, tackles went in and it was played in the right spirit.
"It was a close game but Ipswich were clinical in their play in the first half whereas we got into good areas but our final ball was disappointing.
"We put that right in the second half and I was delighted that Troy and Dorian combined for the equaliser because they applied themselves well defensively."
Spurs: Alnwick, Mtandari, Berchiche, Dervite, Archibald-Henville, Fraser-Allen, Hutchins, Maghoma, Daniels, Hutton, Olsen (Nicholson, 46).
