Burnley boss Owen Coyle conceded his side has a mountain to climb to overturn a 4-1 deficit when we meet for the Carling Cup semi-final, second leg at Turf Moor on January 21 after our 4-1 win in the first leg on Tuesday night.
However, he rightly praised his side's first half performance, when Martin Paterson's 15th-minute goal handed them a deserved 1-0 lead.
Things changed quickly in the second half though as goals from Michael Dawson, Jamie O'Hara, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Mike Duff's own goal all within the space of 22 minutes changed the scoreline to 4-1 in our favour.
Coyle, whose side have knocked out Fulham, Arsenal and Chelsea so far, said: "We did everything which was asked of us and had looked a good side.
"But I do not think anyone would have for seen what was going to happen at the start of the second half.
"When you are playing teams at the top level, if you switch off for a moment, you will get punished.
"I felt if we had kept it nice and compact, we could have taken it back to Turf Moor and had a reasonable chance.
"As it is, we have given ourselves more than a mountain to climb, and there is a long way back."
