Jermaine Jenas has set his sights on Sunderland and an immediate response to our opening day disappointment at Middlesbrough.
Captain at the Riverside, JJ is determined to move on straight away from the 2-1 defeat on Teeside with Roy Keane's men our first opponents at the Lane in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday.
"Perhaps we dwelled on things too long last season," he said, in reference to losing at Sunderland on the first day of last season. "After six games of the season we were in the bottom three and this club is too good for that.
"It's important we pick ourselves up, go positively into our first home game next weekend and get that win."
JJ felt Saturday could have gone either way. "The game was in the balance, we had opportunities but it didn't quite happen for us.
"We wanted to have more control of the game but it's not easy at Middlesbrough, they have two powerful forwards that caused us problems and it was always going to be something like a set-piece that swung it.
"We wanted to win and the likes of Giovani and Luka have now got a taste of what the Premier League is all about. We'll be ready for next weekend."
