The England Under-21 international believes it is the icing on the cake to what has been an incredible campaign, in which he broke into the first-team and was rewarded with our Young Player of the Season award.
Now he has set himself the target of establishing himself in Juande Ramos’ side over the coming years, and cannot wait to get started.
In this exclusive interview, Jamie says: “It’s been a great turnaround for me over the course of the season, and I’m delighted to put pen to paper.
“I just can’t wait to get back playing again next season now, because I didn’t want the current campaign to end, it’s been that good for me.
“To be told that you are part of the setup and part of the long-term plans is really good for me, and I just want to show the Head Coach that I want to progress as a player and become one of the top players at the Club.
“My main aim is to try and establish myself as a regular first-team player next season, but I’m going to take every season as it comes.”
