Harry ready for Rovers test

12 March 2010

Harry Redknapp says we'll have to be at our best to beat in-form Blackburn at the Lane on Saturday.

Rovers arrive at the Lane for the 12.45pm kick-off on a run of four wins, a draw and two defeats in their last seven Premier League matches and sitting comfortably in 12th, 10 points clear of the drop zone.

We're unbeaten in nine matches in all competitions on home soil, however, and on a run of just two defeats in 18.

"We need three points and we have to win our home games," said Harry on Friday. "It won't be easy and we'll have to play well to get the result.

"Sam's (Allardyce) got Blackburn going well, they are halfway and as Sam says, they are looking to push on and see how high they finish. He won't take his foot off the peddle, that's for sure."

It's a stark contrast to a year ago when Allardyce took over a Rovers team second from bottom, without a win in 11 matches and on run of six straight defeats.

He guided the team to a 3-0 win against Wigan in his first game in charge and they eventually finished seven points clear of the drop.

"Sam's done a great job there, as he always does," said Harry. "Whatever he does and however he does it, he's been one of the most successful managers in the last 10 years. I think he's a fantastic manager."
