Big night for Jamie

13 October 2008

Jamie O'Hara reckons he's preparing for his biggest game yet - outside club life here at the Lane.

A place in the European Under-21 Championship finals is up for grabs when England take on Wales in the second leg of their play-off at Villa Park on Tuesday night.

Jamie played left-back as Stuart Pearce's men won the away leg 3-2 on Friday night. He was joined by his team-mates Tom Huddlestone and Fraizer Campbell at Ninian Park and all three will hope to help book England's place in next summer's finals.

"I thought Wales played really well in the first leg, they gave it everything but the positive thing is we came away with a win," said Jamie. "In fact, we were a bit frustrated in the dressing room afterwards that we'd only won 3-2.

"The second leg is a huge game and it could be a cracker.

"Wales have got to go for it to a certain extent because they need to win and that could play into our hands with the pace we have in the team.

"It's a big game for me but I feel confident within the squad now and hopefully I'll play my part again."
