Anytime David Bentley goes near the Spurs TV Online camera, anything could happen

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

YOU KNOW that anytime David Bentley goes near the Spurs TV Online camera, anything could happen - and Xtra is always waiting in the wings for any classic banter.

The midfielder didn't fail to deliver after his fine, match-turning performance off the bench in last week's FA Cup tie against Fulham.

'Bents' was happily talking through the game when Gareth Bale emerged from the tunnel.

"There he goes," he smiled. "Look at him go, look at the machine...(Bents then produced the 'Robocop' noise)...look, it's Robocop..."

Seconds later, Wilson Palacios walked out. "There goes another one," he beamed. "Super-human! Yesterday, he had a torn groin, tonight he's running around. Another machine..."

SPEAKING of Bents, you can't help but smile at one of his best moments at Spurs.

It came the morning after the night before - the morning after he scored that 45-yard volley in the 4-4 draw against Arsenal back in October, 2008.

You will all remember his post-match interview on Sky Sports, when he famously said 'I feel like Superman...'

The theme continued the next day at Spurs Lodge.

Bents was due in for an interview with Spurs TV Online and he duly arrived - with a pair of Superman boxer shorts over his jeans!

You can watch Bents at his best in our latest video clip in the player above - including those Superman boxers...

GOMES couldn't help stitching up two of his team-mates on Friday.

The popular goalkeeper was out early and sat in the sunshine waiting for a team meeting in the AV room.

The meeting was due any minute but first, the room was being used for Harry Redknapp's pre-Portsmouth media briefing.

Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Dorian Dervite wandered out of the changing room and Gomes watched, smile on face, as they pulled open the door of the AV room - to be greeted by the manager, 20 journalists and six film crews!

Benoit took it the right way. "Maybe we should have asked the gaffer a question," he smiled.

All Xtra heard from Gomes was 'ha, ha, ha, ha...'

WE'VE a few pictures from Tuesday's training session.

Jermain Defoe is all smile back on the training pitch below while in the arrows above, Niko Kranjcar takes on Younes Kaboul and John Bostock whips in a cross.

COMING SOON - Gomes signed photograph competition - exclusive to Xtra.

Until next time!
