The big defender landed awkwardly after an aerial challenge and crumpled in agony on the White Hart Lane turf.
Thankfully, initial diagnosis suggested there was no serious damage although he will undergo scans on Monday to find out the extent of the problem.
It means Anthony, outstanding in the last few weeks, will not join up with England Under-21s for Thursday's friendly against Mexico and the Euro Championship qualifying match in Greece on June 5.
A disappointed Anthony, hobbling around on crutches, revealed: "I landed awkwardly and jarred my knee. I've no chance of making the England games now. I'll have a scan on Monday to find out exactly what's wrong."
