Andros ready to halt Asteras charge

Posted on 22 October 2014  - 17:00

Andros Townsend is keen to end Asteras Tripolis’ unbeaten run in Group C of the Europa League on Thursday night.

Top of the standings after two matches with four points from a possible six, the Greek side come to White Hart Lane in confident mood.

Andros, who has played in every one of our European games this term to date, recognises the achievements of our visitors so far – but is confident we can register our first win of the group campaign after two draws in our opening two matches.

“We know we’ve got the quality to win our matches,” he said. “This is a game we need to win in front of our home crowd and we need to get three points.

“We’ve played against Partizan and Besiktas already in the group and for Asteras Tripolis to have done well against those sides and be top of the group after two games shows how much we need to take them seriously.”
