Andre and the players all spoke of their determination to bounce back from Sunday’s loss at City by getting back to winning ways in Norway.
In a tricky fixture played in snow and on an artificial playing surface, an own goal from Adnan Сausevic and a Mousa Dembele strike secured a 2-0 victory, making it five in five in Group K and securing top spot as we progress to the knockout stage of the competition.
“Generally, we played very well and it was important that we won in a comfortable way with a result that would put us through (in first place) and we did exactly that,” reflected Andre at the Alfheim Stadium.
“We showed patience and finally managed to get in behind them.
“We played well down the flanks, moved the ball well in midfield and created lots of good situations. I’m happy for the team and happy we bounced back in preparation for (Sunday’s) match against United.
“It was important for us to get back to winning ways. We said that before the game when we were in London. We knew about the conditions, the snow and the artificial pitch and the players did well to get the result.”
We conclude our group stage fixtures at home to Anji on Thursday, December 12 - come to the Lane and cheer the lads on as we aim for six out of six! You can buy tickets here...
