Andre Villas-Boas is determined to continue applying pressure in the Premier League with a positive result at Liverpool on Sunday.

Always one of the showcase fixtures of the season, we travel to Anfield for a 4pm kick-off looking to extend our current sequence of 12 unbeaten and just one defeat in our last 16 matches in the Premier League.

That form has lifted us up to third place and with rivals City, Arsenal and Chelsea not in league action this weekend, Andre sees Sunday’s encounter, however tough, as a chance to push on again.

"It’s a difficult game," said Andre. "We have to be focused and if we win, it will put us in a great position.

"We want to look forward. It’s a weekend where a couple of teams don’t play and we can put them under pressure if we win.

"But we understand it’s an extremely difficult stadium to go to and we have to be extremely good."

The Reds are in fine form - 20 goals in their last five league wins - and sixth going into the weekend's action.

"It has all the conditions to be an excellent game," added Andre. "Their run of form has been good recently. I think Daniel Sturridge will come back into the team and they have two top goalscorers up front at the moment."
