Anderton in plaster

Posted on 15 March 2001  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Darren Anderton has had his Achilles injury put back in plaster, but George is hopeful that we will see the cultured midfielder strutting his stuff again at the Lane this season.

Giving his pre-match briefing to the press corps at Spurs Lodge ahead of Coventry's visit on Saturday, George confirmed that the players missing are the 'usual injuries' - Ben Thatcher, Mauricio Taricco, Oyvind Leonhardsen, Chris Armstrong and Stephen Carr.

George added on the subject of Anderton: "Unfortunately Darren Anderton has not progressed and he's got to go into a plastercast for a couple of weeks - so that's unfortunate.

"It is just to rest it up, we don't know when he'll be back, but hopefully we'll see him again this season.

George also confirmed that Les Ferdinand is fine after taking a heavy knock on Sunday, while Tim Sherwood is not quite ready after suffering a pulled muscle in the upper leg.
