A best-ever third place in the Premier League last term and back in the Champions League this time around, we kicked-off our 2016-17 campaign by coming through a tough opener at Everton with a point last weekend, finishing the stronger at Goodison Park.
Now we’re back on home soil for the first time in three months…
“It’s the first home game, we have two new signings and we want to show the supporters that we want to continue to do well,” said Jan, who battled back from personal heartbreak and an injury on the eve of the Euro 2016 semi-finals to be fit to start at Everton.
“The fans supported us last season and they saw a good Spurs team as well, now we want to continue growing as a team and we’re all very hungry to do better than last season.”
The arrival of Palace means another return - Andros Townsend is back at the Lane for the first time having left us for Newcastle in January and then moving to Selhurst Park in the summer.
Jan added: “It’s always good to see old team-mates back and a very good player as well, lots of quality. He showed that last season at Newcastle and he will show that again at Palace this season, but hopefully not too much on Saturday!”
