Alton aims for second chance

Alton Thelwell has had a taste of life in the Premiership &mdash&#59; now he wants more.<P class=MsoNormal>The 20-year-old defender was thrust into the limelight alongside Ledley King against Liverpool in November.<P class=MsoNormal>The pair played a starring role in that win and Thelwell played another seven games before stepping aside for Gary Doherty for the Newcastle match on January 2.<P class=MsoNormal>Thelwell has remained in the squad but hasn&rsquo&#59;t featured since. &ldquo&#59;I&rsquo&#59;m determined to get back in there,&rdquo&#59; he declared. &ldquo&#59;I was disappointed to be left out, as you are going to be, but the season has gone well for me.<P class=MsoNormal>&ldquo&#59;I&rsquo&#59;ve played eight games for the first team and although I&rsquo&#59;m disappointed to be left out hopefully I can get back in there again.<P class=MsoNormal>&ldquo&#59;You have to be realistic at a club like this because there are a lot of quality players around and you are not going to play all of the time.<P class=MsoNormal>&ldquo&#59;Before now I hadn&rsquo&#59;t played in the first team and I was happy just to be in the squad or thereabouts but once you have made your debut in the Premiership you are eager for more.<P class=MsoNormal>&ldquo&#59;Like any player I want to be successful and play more games.&rdquo&#59;<P class=MsoNormal>&nbsp&#59;<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
