Alton aims for Reds repeat

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Alton Thelwell aims for a repeat performance of his greatest game at Anfield on Sunday.

Our young defender kicked-off his Premiership career with a dream debut against Liverpool back in November.

In the starting line-up that day alongside fellow youngster Ledley King, Alton handled Michael Owen superbly in a memorable 2-1 win.

Now he faces the threat of Owen, Fowler and Heskey again as resurgent Reds, on the back of their UEFA Cup triumph over Barcelona, turn their attention to finishing in a Champions League qualifying spot in the Premiership.

“I made my debut against Liverpool and thought it went okay,” said modest Alton. “It was a great experience to play at White Hart Lane in front of a packed crowd against a team like that.

“I think Anfield might be a struggle though with all the players we have out.

“Liverpool are doing so well at the moment, they’ve quality players who I played against earlier in the season, Fowler, Owen, and we’ll be up against it.

“We could really do with a couple of experienced players back but otherwise the youngsters will do their best again.”

We are 11/2 to win at Anfield with Alton 50/1 to open the scoring - click for details.
