Alan Hutton has welcomed Michael Dawson back into the fold with open arms.
The popular defender returned from a three-month injury absence to captain the side against Chelsea on December 12.
That pitched him straight in against Nikolas Anelka and Didier Drogba as it ended 1-1 at the Lane in a classic encounter in the Premier League.
“I always thought Michael was a terrific player,” said Alan, enjoying a fine run of form himself at right-back.
“He wins every header, he’s commanding and you are bound to miss that at times.
“For him to come back and not look out of place against a team like Chelsea, to look fit and sharp, says it all. It was great to have him back.”
