The legends with over 1,600 appearances for the Club between them took time out to address the youngsters striving to follow in their footsteps.
All three spoke of what it meant to represent the Club and what it takes to get to the top, players who know exactly what the Class of 2017 are going through - remember, Steve and Glenn came through the youth system before playing a record 854 and 490 matches for us respectively. Graham was able to talk about his route from non-league football to lifting the UEFA Cup in Steve’s absence in 1984.
John McDermott, Head of Coaching and Player Development, said: “All three of them had a remarkable presence. You could have dropped a pin in that room.
“Every young player and the staff all recognise and are incredibly respectful of what Steve, Glenn and Graham achieved. It was an incredible experience for the players. Priceless.”
Steve, Glenn and Graham - two FA Cups (1981, 1982), two UEFA Cups (1972, 1984) and two League Cups (1971, 1973) between them - also enjoyed lunch with our Chairman, Daniel Levy, manager Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff.
