Vedran Corluka is hardly surprised to see Luka Modric excel in central midfield.
The Croatian playmaker has moved centrally after injuries to Tom Huddlestone and Jermaine Jenas and has impressed against Fulham in the FA Cup and the 3-1 win against Blackburn in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday.
Luka played a key role in our second goal, leading a break out of defence and finding Jermain Defoe with a fine pass. JD squared to Roman Pavlyuchenko, who did the rest.
"He plays there for the national team and he can play there in the Premier League as well," said Luka's Croatian compatriot ‘Charlie', who flicked on Niko Kranjcar's corner for Jermain to open the scoring at the end of the first half.
"He's done well but we all knew he would. It's much tougher in the Premier League but he can handle that. Luka's a complete player, an excellent player and wherever he plays in midfield he will do well for us."
Charlie felt Saturday's victory was key as we continue to battle it out for fourth place. We collected maximum points in the early kick-off at the Lane to build on our current fourth spot and then saw rivals Aston Villa and Manchester City drop points. Liverpool face Portsmouth on Monday night.
"It was a big game for us because if we want to be in that fourth spot, we needed to win and we did that," he said.
"It was difficult but we played well and the important thing was to get the three points. If we want to get fourth we have to continue to be consistent. It's also important to win at home and our form is good at White Hart Lane."
