All about us

Jermain Defoe says our focus will be firmly set on what we have to do when we aim for European football at Anfield on Sunday.

Fans' attention is bound to switch between Merseyside and West London, where Fulham take on Everton needing a point to deny us the chance of taking seventh spot in the Premier League.

Our only chance is the daunting task of beating Liverpool - they are unbeaten at Anfield this season - and by doing so, completing a famous league ‘double' over the Reds having recorded a 2-1 win at the Lane in November. In fact, we're one of only two teams to beat Rafa Benitez's men in 37 league matches this term.

"I keep saying it but all we can do is look at ourselves and keep doing what we're doing and try to win," said JD.

"We got the three points against City on Saturday and that's all we can do really.

"We're playing well but we know it will be difficult game against Liverpool.

"They've been fighting for the title but we have to go there and do what we do best and that's to pass the ball, create chances and hopefully get the three points. We showed that at United when we went 2-0 up.

"Anfield is a great venue, a fantastic stadium and we're up against world-class players.

"It will be difficult but we have a good side as well and they know that."
