Colin Todd has taken over the managerial reins from Jim Smith at Pride Park and Monday's clash represents his first Premiership match in charge.
However, his first match in the hotseat ended in a 5-2 Worthington Cup defeat at Fulham so the Rams will have plenty to prove when they arrive at the Lane.
But that meant little to midfield warrior Steffen who declared: "Monday is all about what we do.
"I have always respect for every team in the Premier League, every team is strong but we play at home and we have to be ready to go forward, to press, to close them down and win the game.
"That is what it's about. It's about us.
"For Derby and the players there they will have to tell the manager how good they are and that's a positive point for them. It will lift them because they have to tell him they are good enough.
"But I am confident we can do it if we concentrate, work hard and play to our best in an evening game at White Hart Lane. They are always special."
We are 9/1 to win 3-0 with 22/1 on a 4-0 triumph and Freund is 40/1 to open the scoring - click for details.
Steffen Freund is well aware that a change of manager may up the ante for Derby's players on Monday but insists: "It's all about us."
