Spurs fan Laura Lefley was the winner of Shoot for a Holiday at half time against Manchester City on Monday.
Approaching the pitch, Laura managed to forget her nerves, the thousands of fans watching and concentrate solely on her technique:
“I was unbelievably nervous during the first half to the point where I couldn’t actually concentrate on the game! Martin Chivers was a great help though. He gave us some good advice and generally made us feel relaxed before the big moment. As soon as I got on the pitch, I blocked out the noise, forgot about the nerves and tried to just concentrate on my technique. I wanted to make sure I hit the target basically. If I was quicker than the other person so be it.”
Despite not being able to get to the match itself Laura’s mum didn’t miss out on finding out how she did. Laura explains:
“My mum actually rang my brother to get a running commentary! All in all I’m delighted to win although I think I should have gone a bit quicker. Now all I can think about is looking at Thomson holidays to Miami!”
