Alex Inglethorpe expressed his delight at his Under-18 side's six-shooting display against Southampton.

The lads beat the Saints 6-0 on Saturday with Tomas Pekhart bagging a hat-trick and goals from Sam Cox, Alex Olsen and Jon Obika. Kyle Fraser-Allen set up three of the goals and missed a penalty while it was Cox's first goal in his first start this season.

"We played as well last week against Everton but ended up losing that game," reflected Alex. "This time we converted our chances and were more ruthless.

"Tomas played well and he's getting there now in terms of fitness after missing most of pre-season when he was with Czech Under-20s at the World Cup. He scored for the reserves as well last week and he looks confident.

"It was a good all-round performance and obviously nice to get off the mark like that."

The lads travel to West Ham next on Saturday (September 8).
