Agony at Masters

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

We suffered last-minute agony against the old enemy in the Southern Masters at London Arena on Sunday.

Coach John Gorman's veterans - including Glenn Hoddle - needed to beat Arsenal as the sides met in the last group game to reach the final of the popular event.

Everything seemed to be going to plan as Clive Wilson crashed us into the lead at the start of the second half.

But with 60 seconds left Ian Wright's lob hit the bar and Martin Hayes nodded over the line to level the scores. Wright then rubbed it in with a late winner as we pushed forward for a second goal.

We drew 2-2 with Southampton in our first group match with Terry Gibson and Micky Hazard on target.

West Ham beat Arsenal 5-4 in the final to progress to the British Masters Final.

Spurs: Parks, Wilson, Leworthy, Calderwood, Kerslake, Hazard, Brooke, Gibson, Allen, Hoddle. Coach: John Gorman.
