Our Under-18s had one of those days in front of goal as gritty Cardiff held on for a goalless draw in the FA Premier Academy League on Saturday.

Coach Alex Inglethorpe was pleased with the performance but on this occasion chances came and went with Tomas Pekhart denied and Luke Medley failing to convert late on.

"We played really well, had a tremendous amount of possession but not enough cutting edge on the day," reported Alex.

"We had enough chances to win it though. Tomas had a couple of one-on-ones and a header from a set-piece and Luke had a big chance at the end, but overall the performance was very good.

"If one of those chances had gone in, perhaps we might have gone on to win comfortably but the longer it stayed at 0-0, the more their belief grew."

Spurs U18s: Button, Hughton, Martin (Mtandari, 45), Hutchins, Mills, Archibald-Henville, Hutton, Kasim, Pekhart, Fraser-Allen (Medley, 75), Townsend. Unused subs: Smith, Dalton.
