XXI International Youth Tournament, Spain

Group Stage (matches 35mins each way)

CA Osasuna 1-2 Spurs

Our Academy team bounced back from defeat in their first group game of the XXI International Youth Tournament in San Sebastian with this fine win against CA Osasuna.

Goals from Jamie O'Hara and Radwan Hamed put the lads in control in the first half.

Osasuna responded in the second half but we deservedly held on.

"It was an excellent performance," reported coach Pat Holland. "We changed our system with Kieran McKenna at right-back and Chris Riley central and that worked well.

"We started well an took the lead after about 10 minutes when Andy Barcham pulled the ball across goal for Jamie O'Hara at the far post.

"We scored the second goal when Simon Dawkins hit one that the keeper spilled and Radwan Hamed was there for the rebound.

"To be fair, the second half was all Osasuna, the pressured us and it was backs to the wall stuff. They scored with about 10 minutes left, a far post header but we held on.

"It was a terrific result, everyone was outstanding and it sets us up nicely for Real Madrid."

Spurs: Forecast, Riley, Wright, Lewis, McKenna, Lee, Maghoma, Dawkins, Barcham, O'Hara, Hamed (Davis, 68). Unused subs: Kyriacou, Daniels, Wells, Troy, Holloway.

The lads were scheduled to play Real Madrid on Sunday evening - we'll have a report soon from Pat in Spain.
