The Czech youngster continued his form in front of goal and sparked the recovery by grabbing an equaliser out of nothing - charging down the goalkeeper's clearance - before netting a header and shot to put us in control. Jake Livermore, another player in fine form, bagged the fourth in the second half.
Here is coach Alex Inglethorpe's report. "We went a goal down early on and credit to Birmingham, the delivery and finish was very good.
"We hit back almost immediately through Tomas Pekhart, he chased a lost cause and ended up charging down a clearance and tapping it into an empty net, so he made his own luck with that one.
"We then took control of the game in terms of our passing and movement, played through them and went 3-1 up at half-time with a hat-trick from Tomas.
"The second goal came after good work from Cian Hughton, who is really excelling now in getting into advanced positions, he crossed and Tomas netted with a header. He completed his hat-trick five minutes before half-time with a shot from the edge of the box.
"We went to 4-1 fairly quickly in the second half. Jamie Davis, who played well, sent Jake Livermore through and he finished well. We've been looking for Jake to get into dangerous positions and he's now scored a couple of goals.
"At 4-1, I thought we were worthy winners and the performance was reflected in the scoreline."
