Alex Inglethorpe felt there were lessons to be learned after his Under-18s were held to a 1-1 draw by Millwall in the FA Premier Academy League.
Tomas Pekhart (pictured right) was back on the scoresheet after injury with 25 minutes on the clock - his 19th goal of the season - as the lads dominated the early exchanges only for Millwall to capitalise on a defensive lapse to level it up 10 minutes later. That's how it stayed.
"For the first 25 minutes we played as well as we've played all season," reported coach Alex.
"We scored the goal in that time after good possession and build up play Cian Hughton crossed for Tomas to finish well.
"We had four or five other chances in that spell but a combination of some great goalkeeping, misfortune and poor finishing meant we didn't added to the one goal.
"As well as we played on the ball though, we didn't defend that well and that's how we let them back in, we lost possession, didn't track back and they took advantage.
"The key lesson is that we need to be more ruthless. When you are playing well and creating chances, you have to capitalise, otherwise you will be punished. You have to have that ruthless streak at the highest level."
