FA PREMIER ACADEMY LEAGUE
Arsenal Under-18s 7-1 Spurs
Pat Holland felt the lads played well in the first half after Stuart Lewis' sending off but admitted 'the wheels fell off' in the second half.
Lewis was shown the red card for an early tackle but the lads responded positively and Jamie O'Hara (pictured left) struck the woodwork before Arsenal went ahead via a breakaway goal.
Andy Barcham caused all sorts of problems and set up Claude Seanla's equaliser eight minutes before half-time. However, Arsenal struck again before the break before taking over in the second half.
Coach Pat reported: "It was one of those games where you don't know whether to be angry, frustrated or whatever.
"The game actually started quite brightly and then Stuart got sent off.
"I thought we were still the better side in the first half. Andy Barcham was inspired and kept getting behind the left full-back and delivering crosses. Jamie O'Hara hit the bar from a free-kick, we had one off the line and the keeper made a great save so for 10 men, we looked a real threat.
"They then broke and I wasn't happy with the manner of the goal because their lad beat a couple of players in the build up but we came straight back, Barcham got around the back of the full-back again, hit a great ball across the face of goal and Claude (pictured right) was there to knock it in.
"With eight minutes to go before half-time I thought 'just hold onto that' and we'd have been able to have a chat at half-time at 1-1 but Arsenal scored again three minutes before the break, again disappointing because defenders were beaten.
"I had to praise them at half-time because they'd done well.
"We looked to attack again in the second half but the wheels fell off. They scored and we looked a tired team and it was tough from there, we couldn't contain them.
"Your pride is damaged because it was Arsenal and the bottom line was on the day we were patched up a bit, they were at their strongest and the sending off was a major factor.
"It's a shame really but these things happen in football. When I was a young player, the first game I played for West Ham we lost 13-1!
"You worry about it because people look at results but it's been a fantastic season and I'm now looking forward to the final game against Chelsea."
