Alex Inglethorpe was delighted with our Under-18s' display against Everton on Saturday - unfortunately, the result didn't match the performance.

Coach Alex felt the lads simply didn't test the Everton goalkeeper enough and were therefore dealt a 1-0 defeat, the winning goal arriving on the half-hour.

Alex reported: "I was delighted with the way we played and some of our football was outstanding.

"Unfortunately, it was one of those days and for all the possession we enjoyed and chances we created, we just weren't clinical enough.

"We got into some fantastic areas in and around the box without seriously testing the Everton goalkeeper.

"Whatever game you are playing in, the opposing team will have at least one chance, that was the case and Everton took it. We had a couple of opportunities to clear the danger, didn't and paid for it when the lad finished from the edge of the box.

"Everton showed tremendous resilience to keep a clean sheet and defensively they threw themselves in front of everything.

"We'll certainly learn lessons from the game."

Spurs U18s: L Butcher, Mtandari, Berchiche, Kasim, C Butcher, Casey, Parrett, Hutchins, Pekhart (Fraser-Allen, 70), Townsend, Obika (Olsen, 80). Unused subs: Dalton, Asajile, Cox.
