FA PREMIER ACADEMY LEAGUE
Spurs U18s 2-0 Leicester City
Andy Barcham continued his fine form with a goal and assist as our Under-18s returned to winning ways.
The lively Barcham's performances of late earned him a start for the reserves last week and he did the business again back in Academy action by setting up the first goal for Charlie Daniels (pictured below) before slotting home the clinching second goal himself.
Coach Pat Holland takes up the story: "It was quite an interesting gane. We started off quite well, looked quite bright but they came more into without causing us too many problems.
"The first half looked like it might be stalemate but then we had a quick break, Andy Barcham did ever so well down the left, got past the full-back, into the box and squared it for Charlie Daniels to put the ball in the net from about six yards It was good team goal.
"We went in 1-0 at half-time but I had to change it after an injury to Richard Heller at the start of the second half but we continued to do alright.
"We then managed to get in again, long ball over the top, they might have dealt with it better but Andy Barcham went through and slotted it past the goalkeeper.
"Brian Mascarhenas came on after about 75 minutes and we then had our best spell, could have scored another couple of goals. We passed it well, got behind them and got balls across the face of the goal. Jamie Davis went close and our play was good.
"All in all then a satisfying performance and we've now got Cardiff this weekend before we start looking at the FA Youth Cup against Forest."
