Spurs U18s 3-2 Ipswich Town
Andy Barcham's late screamer secured a first win of the season for our Under-18s on Saturday.
The striker lashed home from 18 yards two minutes from time to complete the victory after we trailed 1-0 and 2-1.
Coach Pat Holland takes up the full story. "It was nice to get a first victory although it didn't look too good to start with.
"We conceded a goal after 20 minutes when a ball was played into the box, a little bit of movement that we didn't deal with and the lad finished well.
"At that stage it was all Ipswich and we were at sixes and sevens.
"We then received an injury to Tommy Welch so we put Chris Riley on and that gave us a little more pace and that helped.
"After about 35 minutes Jack Maghoma struck a ball from just outside the box, their keeper made a bit of a mistake and we were back in it.
"We had the wind in our favour in the second half and that played a part and the boys began to express themselves more although Ipswich went 2-1 up.
"We changed it with 20 minutes to go, brought on Claude Seanla and Simon Dawkins and Simon soon made it 2-2. He took the goal superbly as well, allowed the defender to get back, cut across him and rifled it home.
"The icing on the cake came about two minutes from time. Andy Barcham got a bit of space on the edge of the box and hit a left-footed shot into the top corner.
"Full credit to him and the lads, that's three games on the bounce now where we've been behind and fought back - 2-0 down to get a draw against Norwich, 2-0 down at Millwall although we didn't get anything and now against a good Ipswich side."
