Saturday's friendly was played in three 30-minute thirds and featured a number of our new First Year trainees and a couple of schoolboys.
Here is Pat Holland's rundown. "It was a tough game because Brentford were a tall and strong side. I'm not sure about their ages but they were Under-18 players and they were strong. I think at the end of the day that told.
"Brentford took the lead when a corner was driven in, half-cleared and their player struck a decent shot that David Button saw late.
"We then got ourselves back into the game and scored an equaliser - good play, we moved the ball through midfield and Rad finished really well.
"We thought we might be able to take it on from there but we got a little lazy at the end and they nicked a winner, got down our left, good ball in and a good finish. There were opportunities at both ends after that but the score stayed at 1-1.
"We played a new 4-4-3 system with some new ideas, tried to bed those ideas into the players and we know it will take time.
"We'll see how they cope with it, who copes well and not so well, the strengths and weaknesses of the side and we'll take it from there."
