First Year Academy scholars John Bostock and Mirko Ranieri went head-to-head in an Under-17 international between England and Italy at Sixfields Stadium, Northampton, on Sunday.
Midfielder Bostock got the better of goalkeeper Ranieri as he captained John Peacock's side to a 2-0 win.
John was instrumental in his team's victory and started the move which led to Ryan Tunnicliffe's 27th minute opener.
And if it wasn't for a great second half save from Mirko, John could have helped himself to a goal before Tunnicliffe completed his brace with 10 minutes remaining.
The result meant England finished runners-up to Portugal in the The FA International U17 Tournament, which has seen the sides play three games in five days.
