Coach Pat admitted it was a mixed season in terms of league performance lifted by a fantastic run to the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup.
"That was the icing on the cake," reflected Pat. "That recovered the season for us and livened everything up. It gave everyone a lift and our league form improved as well."
Anway, here are Pat's end of season reports - we'll be running his views on 28 players this week...
Pat Holland: "Simon’s a good lad and at this stage he just needs to toughen up. We’ve spoken about it and physically he isn’t a strong lad at the moment but that will come. He’s got an excellent touch, is a confidence player and just needs to score a few more goals. He has a good attitude and I’m hoping with an injury-free season he’ll prove himself."
Pat: "He’s been excellent. He showed a great attitude and it’s a very difficult time for the lads when they are Third Year trainees and not getting that many reserve team games. He was a good team member, I like him as a lad and I wish him well."
Pat: "Tommy was one of the plusses of the season. Again, credit goes to him and Perry, he did a lot of work with him and Tommy responded. He’s 50 per cent better than he was the season before last and he just has to keep moving in that direction."
Pat: "He came in and took us by storm, scored on his debut at Bristol City but as the season went on I think he found it a little more difficult because of the expectation level when he first came in. He has good running ability, plenty of energy and he’ll be a threat next season."
Pat: "Richard had a tough season. He’s had a problem with his back so he missed quite a lot of work. He played in the final game of the season and it was nice to see him play and play well. Next season is important for him."
Pat Holland continues his assessment of how his Academy squad performed last season.
